CBSE Class 10 Science 2022 · Paper 31/2/1 · Question 5(a)
Name the reproductive parts of an angiosperm. Where are these parts located ? Explain the structure of its male reproductive part.
Answer
Stamens and pistil are the reproductive parts, located in the flower; a stamen has a filament bearing an anther with pollen sacs.
Reproductive parts: the stamens (male reproductive part) and the pistil or carpel (female reproductive part).
Location: in the flower - in a bisexual flower the pistil is at the centre and the stamens are around it.
Structure of the male reproductive part (the stamen): it consists of a thin stalk, the filament, which bears at its tip the anther. The anther contains pollen sacs in which the yellowish pollen grains, carrying the male germ-cells, are produced.
