Light - Reflection and Refraction 1 mark Easy
How can a concave mirror be identified without touching ?

Answer

Hold it close to the face: an erect, enlarged image shows that the mirror is concave.

Hold the mirror close to your face and look at the image. If the image is erect and enlarged (larger than the face), the mirror is concave. A plane mirror would give an erect image of the same size, and a convex mirror an erect but smaller image. (Moving the mirror away, the image in a concave mirror turns inverted, which a plane or convex mirror never shows.)
