CBSE Class 10 Science 2019 · Paper 31/1/1 · Question 14(a)
How can we help in reducing the problem of waste disposal ? Suggest any three methods.
Answer
Segregate waste, compost kitchen and garden waste, and recycle paper, plastic, glass and metal.
Any three of the following (other correct methods also earn credit):
(1) Segregation: keep biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste in separate bins, so that each can be dealt with properly.
(2) Composting: turn kitchen and garden waste into manure in a compost pit.
(3) Recycling: send paper, plastic, glass and metal to be recycled into new articles.
(4) Reuse: use bottles, jars, boxes and bags again instead of throwing them away.
(5) Reducing the use of non-biodegradable materials: for example, carry a cloth or jute bag instead of polythene bags.
