CBSE Class 10 Science 2019 · Paper 31/1/2 · Question 13
Why should there be equitable distribution of resources? List three forces that would be working against an equitable distribution of our resources.
Answer
Resources should benefit all, not a few rich and powerful people; forces against this are profit-seeking exploiters, poorly implemented laws and mismanagement.
Equitable distribution is needed so that all, and not just a handful of rich and powerful people, benefit from the development of natural resources. Every living being has a right to these resources, and fair, long-term use keeps them available for future generations.
Forces working against it: (1) Industrialists and other rich and powerful people who exploit resources for their own profit. (2) Environmental laws and rules that are not implemented properly. (3) Mismanagement in the distribution of natural resources. Any other relevant force, such as corruption, also earns credit.
